Dear Friends,

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support for Sanctuary Inn. We are grateful for each of you.

Recently I have been reminded that we can’t take anything for granted. Often, we go about our lives, and everything goes as it did the day before. But a couple of things recently have reminded me that we cannot assume anything.

About two weeks ago, Camp Arrah Wanna, our very good neighbor, had a devastating fire that completely destroyed their shop building. This included some equipment, tools, lots and lots of supplies – the things that they used each day to keep the camp running. To see the huge flames and realize how quickly a fire can travel (fortunately it did not spread, it was contained to the shop area) reminded me that we always have to be careful and be prepared.

This is the fire that happened at our neighbor, Camp Arrah Wanna, which completely destroyed their maintenance shop.

Shortly after that fire we had a small fire here at Sanctuary Inn related to some sawdust and solvent being in a confined space together – there was no damage. It was a bit of a scare! It was again a reminder that things could have gone much worse. God was gracious to us!

Lately, we have also been working with our local county to lay the groundwork for some future remodeling/expansion to one of our buildings. At this time our process has come to a standstill with a denial from the county land use department. They were needing some information that had to come from a third party and the county did not feel like they got what they needed – hence the denial. We have a hearing soon to appeal the decision and we believe that we can supply the necessary information, but we can’t presume the outcome! Please pray for Sanctuary Inn and our appeal to the Land Use Board which we hope will happen in the next 60 days. Thank you for standing with us.

We are grateful for all of the missionary guests that have already come and the ones we will be hosting the remainder of this summer here at Sanctuary Inn. This summer we have been reminded how important these remodeling plans are as unfortunately we had to turn down several guest requests because we did not have the space to house as many as wanted to come.

Let’s continue to trust God together for the good things that He has in store for Sanctuary Inn. We are grateful to serve a God who knows what is best for us all!

Trusting God together,
